Much of what good professional development provides for clients is the ability to observe them as they are seen by others and comment honestly and directly on what we see.
That fresh perspective, allied to the skills and training to do so accurately, non judgementally and in a way that each unique client can hear and tolerate, is at the heart of what we do.
The very best practitioners have the courage to say what they see, and take the risk that it will not be received well or may even lead to the end of the relationship. I suspect that more relationships end because practitioners are unwilling to take that sort of risk, than are lost because we do.
